- Option 1:
A. Click on the monitor icon (also called “Display Link Device”) located in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. From the list of options that appear,
click “Extend To -> Right”
B. Select the restore down box on the top right hand corner of your screen
C. With your curser, drag the window as far to the right as possible and double click on the title bar to push the “Touch here to Borrow”

- Step 5: The screen will no longer be shown on the staff monitor allowing the staff to open up other applications and continue working while patrons place their books on the RFID Antenna pad
- Option 2:
A. Click on the monitor icon and select “Extend” from the list of options
B. Then select the restore down box on the top right hand corner of your screen

C. Next hit the “F1 key” on your keypad which will move your screen to the patron’s screen automatically
- Step 6: If patron assistance is needed, the staff can simply right click on the monitor icon and select “Mirror”. This will allow staff to see the exact same screen the patron is viewing and see where the issue is
- Step 7: If for any reason the staff needs to go into workflows to assist the patron, we recommend the staff turning the patron monitor off. To do so staff will need to go to the monitor icon and right click to select “Off”
- Step 8: Once the issue is resolved, the staff will need to load the Self-Check module back on the patron monitor following Step 3 listed above
Patron Self Check Module
- Step 1: On the Main Menu click “Touch here to Borrow” to begin
- Step 2: The screen will instruct patrons to Scan their Library card
(If the screen is on mirror, please ensure the correct patron information appears at the top of the screen)
NOTE: After a Patron Scans their card, the screen will display an Audio and Visual alert when Patrons have an available hold
- Step 3: Place the items (Max 3 at a time) on the designated area on the desk and wait for the items to appear on the screen
- Step 4: Once the items are captured, a message will appear showing “Loan confirmed. Please remove all items” meaning that all items are disarmed and can pass through the gate without sounding the alarms.
- Step 5: For the patron to complete their transaction, they will choose from one of two options: “Touch here to Print Receipt or Exit” or “Back Page”

- Click on this link to go to the Arm- Disarm page for instructions: http://tnrfidlibrary.wordpress.com/faqs/how-to-arm-disarm-items/
- Once staff overrides the hold a receipt from Sirsi will print for the patron.
- As the transaction is complete, staff will need to return the “Borrow” module back to the patron monitor by following Staff Set up of the “Check Out” Module in Step 3
LOST ITEMS:
- If a patron attempts to check out a “lost” item a message will appear stating, “Item(s) cannot be issued, Please refer to circulation desk.”
- Staff will then need to go into Workflows and override the exception.
- If a staff member attempted to Check Out an item entered in as “lost” under the Staff Station then a message would appear showing the items exception.
- For example, “Warning!!! This item was reported as lost or assumed to be lost”
- Staff would then need to go into Workflows and override the exception in order to check the item out to the patron.
- BUT REMEMBER TO ALWAYS DISARM THE ITEM BEFORE YOU GO INTO WORKFLOWS AND TURN OFF THE MIRROR!
This will allow the patron to exit the gates without the alarm sounding
